As far as I can tell, this is because of their “OpenSocial” image URLs that redirect to the actual image (the part that handles the redirect seems to be dead for some manga). I’ll include a fix for this in the next update, and if it’s still occurring afterwards, let me know!

(PS: All of your comments got through; I just have it set up so the first comment you make requires approval to cut back on spam.)

There seems to be a problem with mangago when trying to download old mangas? It totally skips pages and just doesn’t work.

I can’t reproduce the issue from my end using the latest release, but if you want to send a few example URLs, I’ll check them out!

You might want to check that the pages actually exist on the website– With some older manga, some of the images for earlier chapters might be dead (which will cause them to be skipped).

Right-click the item in the download queue, and select “Choose Chapters”. You can then check off the specific chapters you want! (You can also just add the individual chapter URLs to the queue if you prefer to do it that way.)

If you send me an email, we can discuss alternative payment options; I’m usually willing to accept other options where feasible, just let me know which you’d rather use and I’ll see about getting it set up.

They change how their image servers are set up every once in a while, which can break the support module for the site. I’ll make sure that the site is working normally again with the next update!

For now, try changing the image server under “File > Site-Specific Options > hitomi.la”. It’ll be set to “Auto” by default, but if you change it to one of the alternatives (e.g., “Default”), it should start working again.

No worries, I’ll definitely do so! (I noticed you sent this a couple of times, but don’t worry, I got your other messages as well– Things have just been busy these past couple of days.)
