Hi, I’ve encountered an interesting problem with folder names. Some downloads of mine have a title that includes a , which changes the folder name from the full title to just the first half up to the , . Can I already fix it myself or do you need to implement something?

Interesting bug– I can’t seem to reproduce it using default folder naming settings. Are you doing anything special with your folder formatting string under Settings > Save to > General? It will normally be “%TITLE%” by default.

If you want, you can send me an example URL and optionally your config file (config.ini) so I can load it up on my end and check (just use the support email on the “About” tab of the program window).

Hi, could you add the option for a single click to show from the tray instead of a double click. I have a few other apps that allow for a single click and it makes for a nicer option. Thank You.

Sure, I’ll have this as the new default with the next update. I have noticed this behavior in some other apps, and can’t deny the efficiency of a single click.

I’ve updated the domain, so it should be working now the next time you restart HDoujin Downloader. If you have any slowness issues still, let me know!

Looks like it’s a result of the new reader mode setting they added.

I just uploaded a fix, so it should be working normally again the next time you restart HDoujin Downloader!

Thanks a lot for including the example URL. I just updated the module to use English tags by default, so they should be what you want now!

(Japanese tags can be enabled again under Tools > Site settings > Pixiv).

Hi, was wondering if when organising the files via tags, you could have tags be created automatically through the metadata of the downloads themselves. For example have the tags for Authors be created automatically.

Go to Settings > Save to > Metadata, and click the “Metadata file settings” button. Enable “Add fields as namespaced tags”, and then author information will be added to the tags list in the form “author:name”. The “author:” part will be removed during sorting.

Another way to do this would be to use the %AUTHOR% token in your folder formatting string under Settings > Save to > General. To sort by author and then by tag, for example, you could do %AUTHOR%\%TAGSORT&\%TITLE%.

Thanks for your quick reply, but it does not seem to work, the downloads still all get dumped in the manga folder. The only way which i have noticed the app to create new folders with the Artist’s name where the manga with their name in the metadata gets dumped in the respective folder, is by using the “Organise manga in folders based on tags option”. So is there an option for the app to add the name of the Artist in the tag hierarchy so that I would not have to do so manually?.

The artist name is treated the same as a tag as far as the tag hierarchy is concerned, so you can use it there the same way you would use any other tag. If you’re asking if you can use a placeholder in the tag hierarchy that gets replaced with the artist name so you don’t have to manually enter artist names into the hierarchy, there is currently no way to do that right now. It is something I could add if it’s important to you.

The alternative method I mentioned should work, but it will only work if the “author” metadata is set. You could also try %AUTHOR||ARTIST%\%TAGSORT%\%TITLE%, which will place it under a folder named after the author or artist (whichever is available). You can find more information on this syntax here. Of course, %TAGSORT%\%AUTHOR||ARTIST%\%TITLE% also works if you want to sort by tags before author/artist.

ok final comment i pinky promise, when downloading the comicinfo.xml, it puts the tags into the field and Komga reads tags through a field formatted the same way. Is there a way in the software to replace “genre” with “tags” when generating the file so I don’t have to do it manually?

There’s no way to do this in the current release, but I do have the latest ComicInfo spec implemented on my end for the next update. There are a couple more things I want to finish implementing first, but I’ll try to upload it as soon as possible!
