Hi. When I use the new image converter (Release 281) and try to open the new converted file it will always say “This file:__________________________ is a PNG file with incorrect extension! Rename?” even though the original file is in jpg. This didn’t happen when using the old version which converted all files to jpg. May I know if there is a way to solve this issue?

Thanks for pointing that out! I ran some tests and discovered that this occurs when you have “Enable image modifications” checked; after scaling and/or trimming white space, it wasn’t outputting the proper image format. This will be fixed for the next update.

I’ll add support for the second site you mentioned to the next release, but I can’t seem to find any manga/gallery content on the first one; it appears to be a video website. Please link to specific example galleries, because it can be hard for a non-Korean speaker to navigate these websites…

Hi. I am having error when I try to download using mangago site. Can you provide me any suggestion please. Looking forward for your response.

Mangago is being a bit of a jerk at the moment with frequent site updates that break the support module. I’ll have it working again for the next release, but if it breaks again, let me know.

Hi I cannot open files that downloaded files using CDisplay since the last 2 version [release 280 and release 281]. Not sure which one caused it since I updated both at the same time.
After reading the changelog, I think it’s possibly caused by the image conversion. Is there any configuration to use the old image conversion?

The conversion algorithms are the same, there are just more options available now. By default, all images will be left alone except for .webp files, which will be converted to .jpg. If you previously had “Convert all to .jpg” checked before updating, it will now have been added as a conversion rule. If you go under “Settings > Save to > Convert, Image Conversion”, you can delete or modify any existing conversion rules. You could try deleting all of them and seeing if the issue still occurs; if it does, it might be a problem with the site you’re downloading from or CDisplay.

If disabling all conversion rules fixes it, let me know, and we’ll go from there.

I noticed the .jpg file conversion make the file actually bigger than usual, but I can’t set anything other than image quality
I feel you used 32-bit depth with 1×1 chroma? or just following the original image?
will you add these setings as well?
    no rush though 😀

It uses .NET’s built-in encoder, which is fairly limited in this regard (but I try to reduce the number of external dependencies as much as possible). It uses 32-bit depth by default, and I don’t think it actually allows it to be changed for the jpeg encoder (only tiff). I’ll probably need to look into introducing some additional image processing libraries for more fine-tuned conversion options.

Have you checked out the support forum? The new Domain Management tool in the last release makes it easy to fix these issues without waiting for an update (it was created with this scenario in mind!). You can read about how to use it here.

That said, the domain will be updated in this weekend’s release.
