Help with getting nhentai.net downloads to work

Title: I'm a very stupid person, I apologize in advance. I've been trying to use this software to no avail for over a year now, and the sheer amount of links I've been wanting to save has gotten to the point where I have to bother you all. Again, I apologize. Feel free to make fun of my lack of braincells when it inevitably comes to light that I've made a basic error without noticing for as long as I have, I know I deserve it.

I am on the most recent build of hdd (2023.9.27), after having re-downloaded the win64 executable. In my plugins folder, I've placed the most recent version of flaresolverr (3.3.6, which was unzipped by the program itself), and set the challenge solver to "FlareSolverr" under settings > cloudflare solvers.

Whenever I try to add a link, it only appears as numbers, and if I try to initiate the download no images actually show up in the resulting folder (which generates on my desktop atm for quicker testing). When the download finishes, the status changes to "Completed (some failed)", i.e all of them did. The log file after I add a sample link can be read below (100% unedited), with no immediately discernible errors (using a random upload from the front page at the time of typing this): nothing generates after the DL has completed.

To clarify a couple minor points: When I first added a link, windows prompted me if I wanted to allow the flaresolverr executible past my firewall. I clicked yes, after which it stated the "Gettng info..." and "waiting for cloudflare" messages, as per usual. After the first time however, only the "Getting info..." text appears. For the above example, it shows up on the client with a title of "47211", or the sauce digits of the URL I entered.

Again, I apologize for being a worthless moron who clearly can't google properly, and thank you if anyone does decide to respond. Below is the aforementioned log:

The detailed report is appreciated and extremely helpful, thank you. It sounds like you set up the FlareSolverr plugin properly, and judging by the log, it has no issues accessing the site. I believe the issue is this:

This means that the "lib" folder is missing, so it's missing some DLL files that are required for the nhentai module to work properly.

Try downloading the full release ZIP archive from here (which contains the necessary DLLs), and then extract the whole thing to a new folder. Set up the FlareSolverr plugin as you did, and it should work this time!

I don't ask because I know I should figure these things out myself, not bother worthwhile human beings with my garbage. My point has already been proven in that I couldn't notice such a basic error, even downloading something properly is beyond my abilities. I can't say sorry enough, other than by never wasting your time with my trite again.

To conclude, as of now, there still appears to be issues with flaresolverr. After following your provided advice, it now times out no matter how many seconds I add to the value under "timeout" (settings > cloudflare settings, as before; The exception is "System.Net.WebException: The request was aborted: The operation has timed out.").
I also get a windows notification that states "Your connection to nhentai is being blocked by cloudflare's anti-spam captcha," i.e it's almost certainly an issue on flaresolverr's end rather than yours: There's even a github issue thread discussing this exact issue but with an older version of flaresolverr, which I of course blindly missed like a moron.
In the meantime, I also tried the manual solution with user agent/ cl_clearance strings, from Chrome and Firefox (without changing the "preferred web browser" option under settings > web drivers), which resulted in the same error.
Again, I apologize for wasting your time, I'll bug off and shut my dumb mouth up now; This is obviously too complicated for someone as braindead as I am.

hey gemstone,

have you tried if nhentai.xxx works for you? last i checked it didn't require any captcha solving. it's mirroring nhentai.net, but only updates every month or so and doesn't support all features of the original site. you can check how up to date it is by looking at the number of the latest upload on the frontpage. the .net domain hasn't worked for me for many months now, but until recently the mirror worked just fine.

I also have the same. It's been at least a year since i was able to download anything from nhentai.net.

I tried to do what you said, deleted everything FlareSolverr-related in there. I tried putting the whole flaresolver folder inside the plugins folder and tried copying all things from the flaresolver and past them directly onto the plugin folder.

I still can't add any nhentai.net. I keep getting the message that cloudflare blocked the connection. My log seems so empty.

Is this right?

For this entire year i have been thinking that nhentai.net is simply not supported, and eventually it would be fixed, but from the way you answer the question it doesn't seem to be the case. Am i supposed to be able to download from nhentai.net? Are there people able to do it right now?

If so why can't i? There has to be some setting that i'm missing or something.

The best way to do this is just plopping the ZIP archive directly into the plugins folder, and it will be extracted automatically. This way you know for sure that the folder structure is what HDoujin Download expects.

Leave the log viewer window open, because it will only show events that occur while it's open. While you have it open, try to add a URL from nhentai to the download queue, and you should see some Cloudflare-related stuff pop up. If you continue to have issues with it, please post the resulting log and I'll check it out.

This only matters if you copy the Cloudflare cookie from your web browser into HDoujin Downloader (as described here). The user agent string must match the one from the web browser you copied the cookie from, or it won't work. This is all handled automatically when you use FlareSolverr. This approach does work though if FlareSolverr isn't managing to pass the challenges itself.

Yes! It's been working for a long time now, but is dependent on the Cloudflare bypass working. I understand that it hasn't been working for everyone. The most common issue I see is that FlareSolverr times out while waiting for the challenge solution, which means Cloudflare isn't letting it through. This might be IP-based, with some IPs getting a harder time with it than others.

There's a new version of HDoujin Downloader out now that I uploaded yesterday, along with a new version of FlareSolverr. Try updating both, and see if you still have the problem. If you do, share the logs as mentioned earlier and I'll do my best advise further.

Thanks for answering me. I tried the new version, but no success. :(

At least, i tried the manual method that you linked and that worked, so i take that as a win and i'll keep using that for the time being. :D
