2024.03.25 Update failure

Post by Bookimp » Wed Mar 27, 2024 7:06 pm

The program always fails to update and tells me to run as admin or save to different drive (it's not on my C Drive already). When I close it and open as administrator it already has the version changed and there's no update available... should I be concerned? Is it really updating or lying to me?

happened to me as well the past 3-4 updates I made through the program,
I ignored it since it seemed to have updated properly regardless

Under Help > Check for updates, do you have "Update extra modules" checked?

This setting pertains to Kuroneko Reader and Manga Database. The update process for these companion applications is currently broken (and I haven't prioritized fixing it since I haven't released updates for them recently). The error you're seeing is probably related to that.

To make it stop appearing, just disable that setting for now.
I'm the admin and developer of HDoujin Downloader.

That makes so much sense. I did have it checked (fixed now) and will see if it does it again next time.
