Where do you have hdoujin currently installed? It's not advisable to put the program in somewhere like Program Files.
Are you using the latest version? (Release 308) and What are your computer specs?
When does it crash and how many manga are you trying to download?

Thanks for the quick response.

I don't have it saved in program files.
I have 7 downloading at once.
I have downloaded and reinstalled the latest version and it still does the same thing.
Intel core i7, 1.8gh, 1.99gh
16gb ram
x64 processor
windows 10

Your computer specs looks fine.
Check out the faq here. https://doujindownloader.com/faq-i-cant ... e-program/

I would put the hdoujin folder along with it's contents to somewhere else. NOT in program files. Maybe like in the windows downloads folder? Just not in C:\Program Files. I believe that will solve the problem. If not make sure .NET Framework 4.0 is installed and you can whitelist the program in your antivirus as well.

Sorry to hear you're having problems!

So you have 7 downloads running at once, and after leaving them running for a while, the program crashes?
  • Do any of them finish, or make any progress at all?
  • How many items do you have in the download queue altogether?
  • What site are you downloading from?

If it's not actually making any progress, it's possible there's a problem with the support module for the site in question and it's just sitting around eating up memory. Let me know, and I'll see if I can reproduce the issue.

Thanks,

I've done all those things and it keeps crashing.

I have used this program for awhile and it only started doing this a few releases ago.

Hopefully the next release will fix this.

Cheers

Thanks for your help.

here are my answers:
So you have 7 downloads running at once, and after leaving them running for a while, the program crashes?
- that is correct

Do any of them finish, or make any progress at all?
- they make good progress at the beginning, then they get slow and then stop working as the memory usage goes up

How many items do you have in the download queue altogether?
-I have about 40

What site are you downloading from?
-I am downloading from Managdex, myreading and mangatown and mangarock

If it's not actually making any progress, it's possible there's a problem with the support module for the site in question and it's just sitting around eating up memory. Let me know, and I'll see if I can reproduce the issue.

All right, I ran a few tests, and so far I am not able to reproduce the issue (memory usage remains more or less constant and all downloads finish without a problem).

It's possible that you have something enabled in your settings I don't that is contributing to the issue. Email me a copy of your "config.ini" file (you can find the support email address on the "About" tab of the program), and I'll load it up and try again to reproduce it.

By the way, if you happen to remember what release you were using before this problem started occurring, let me know and I can provide a download link so you can downgrade for the time being.
