Re: Manga database and Kuroneko reader both failing to start.
Thanks for the detailed report!
The errors here are very generic (the error code basically states that an error has occurred and little else). Checking Event Viewer was the right move-- If you locate the events pertaining to these crashes, do you see any more detailed information there?
One thing I'd suggest trying is opening "config_reader.ini" in Notepad and setting the home directory ("HOME") to something else, like an empty directory, just in case it's running into problems trying to read from the default directory. If that solves it, that lets us narrow it down a bit.

Where would config_reader.ini be? I cant seem to find it anywhere.
EDIT: I'm now even more confused. Everything works fine on a VM running the same OS. Turns out config_reader.ini did not generate yet, so I copied it over but still nothing.

So it's crashing before it even gets far enough to generate the configuration file, huh. It's probably failing when trying to create and then load the default configuration, then.
The only obvious potential point of failure is when it tries to load the contents of the "HOME" directory, which defaults to

C:\Users\%USERNAME%\Downloads\Manga
. I don't know if you tried what I suggested already but: After copying the configuration file over, manually set the "HOME" directory to an empty, existing directory.I'm the admin and developer of HDoujin Downloader.

Tried that, and still no dice, wont work even in safe mode, the only thing I have yet to try is just reinstall my OS.
Edit: I just decided to bite the bullet and reinstall my OS and that fixed it, thanks for your help though, its appreciated!

Well, that's a hardcore fix! I respect the intensity, lol.
Glad it's working now, though! Thanks for the update.
