Hi there.
It’s my first time using the app and I’m trying to understand the conversion settings. I’m able to download a rip pretty easily, but the image comes out looking not as sharp and with a sort cross stitching on the panels. Right now, conversion is set to sebo to jpeg at 100% quality that packages it as a cbz. I think maybe I’m just compressing the images but I’m not quite sure what’s a better option. If you have any tips on getting the best quality image from the downloaded id really appreciate it.
Apologies. I meant webp not whatever sebo is lol
Yeah, no, no support for the cutting-edge “SEBO” format just yet, lol.
I believe there is still some compression occurring when you convert to JPEG just because of how the encoder works, even when quality is set to 100%. It shouldn’t look noticeably bad under normal circumstances, though. If it’s converting animated WEBP images to JPEG, that’s another story– Those will probably end up looking pretty terrible (if this is what’s happening, you can disable conversion of animated images).
If you want the best quality possible, I’d either leave them in the original format or convert them to a lossless PNG, but the latter will take up a lot more space. You may have noticed a greyed-out “optimize images” setting in there, and I plan to enable that soon, which could possibly help with this.
If you want, you can email me the gallery URL in question and I’ll look at what’s actually happening with the images and see if I can up the re-encoding quality a bit.
I am using lezhin, but what is the best way to use it if I have two lezhin IDs? Is it possible to use two IDs in one program? Or should I enter one ID and use two programs?
I have 2 lezhin IDs, so I am running 2 HDoujin Downloaders for each ID. It downloaded without any problems for the first day, but after the second day, the number of daily downloaders becomes 0. Please tell me why this is happening.
Are you running multiple instances on the same device? They will share the same download limit across both, so maybe it’s getting consumed faster than expected because of that. Give it a day, and if it still doesn’t reset, let me know.
The same symptom appears. If you run one program with two IDs on one PC, the downloadable number suddenly changes to 0. When downloading is available, if you access a different directory with a different ID, it shows 0.
Why did it convert each chapter into multiple PDF files instead of converting the entire manga into a single PDF file when I clicked on “convert to PDF”?
Using the tabs, go to Settings > Save to > Chapters, and uncheck “Convert chapters individually”. That should give you the behavior you want!
I cant get the updated program to work to download the additional apps. I’ve tried from multiple locations, including the desktop, a secondary drive, and even an external hard drive. no dice.
It’s not your fault, the issue is with the updater (which is used to download the companion apps). I’ll get it fixed, but in the meantime, you can download them manually using the workaround described here!
Hi, can you support tcbscans.com?
Thank you.
Done! The site should be working the next time you restart HDoujin Downloader.
Noticed that HentaiEra is not one of the supported sites? I mean, I cannot put in my login info for it. But it does let you download from it. Only it only downloaded the jpegs, ignoring the gifs and png. any chance for an update to resolve this?
You’re right! It wasn’t handling other file types correctly. This has now been fixed, and the site should be working as expected the next time you restart HDoujin Downloader!
Hello,
ERO18X.com is no longer working. Can you fix this please?
I just uploaded a fix, so it should be working the next time you restart HDoujin Downloader.
Thanks for letting me know!
Can you please look into why downloading multiple files will cause the file to download fine but somehow mix two different files into one download. Sometimes it downloads two files and switches the names of the files. I also noticed it fails a lot of files.
I have tried using the different beta versions from HDoujin Downloader 2023.5.6.0-rc.6 – rc.10
im using those because of nhentai and the cloudflare checker issue.
You’re not the first person to mention this (#211), although the last person told me that it was resolved. Apparently it’s not, and it seems to specifically occur with nhentai. I’m not totally sure what’s causing it; it might be related to some combination of settings.
Would you be willing to send me your configuration files? There’s the “config.ini” file, and a “config.json” file in the “config” folder. If you could email me both of them so I can load them up and check for any possible settings causing this, it would be very helpful.
You could improve the download speed of a manga (customize it). example:
– when i download from a website that has cloudflare. the download is slow.
– if i download a “single” chapter of a manga that has 270 images per chapter, the download is slow.
– When downloading, it would be nice if it could be customized using multiple simultaneous downloads of images for 1 manga chapter.
– another bug is that lectortmo detects when you download from its site and blocks you. you could create an automatic “custom user agent” that you can also choose from mobile.
Downloading from Cloudflare-enabled sites shouldn’t be too ridiculously slow because HDoujin Downloader caches the clearance cookies, but if that’s not working for some reason and Cloudflare has to be bypassed for every single request, it’ll definitely be slow. If you generate a log file and send it to me for one of the affected downloads (Tools > Log Viewer) I’ll check it out.
You’re right that multithreaded downloads could be a lot faster. I’ve opened an issue to track this feature request here.
For lectortmo, have you experimented with rate-limiting? If you go to Tools > Preferences/General settings from the menu at the top of the program window, and then go to “Timing & delays”, you can specify some rate limits there. That might help with getting blocked. If you find a rate limit that solves the issue I can integrate it as a default setting. I’ll investigate on my end, too.
